Bret Elliott

Director - Managing Director – IT & Cybersecurity

Bret Elliott is Rappahannock Electric Cooperative’s (REC) Managing Director – IT & Cybersecurity. Bret provides the vision for the department as well as leadership and oversight for the team of Directors responsible for providing all services. Prior to this role, he served as REC's Director - IT Infrastructure & Networking, providing leadership, management and oversight of both REC and REC’s subsidiary technology team members.

Bret has an extensive career in the IT field, including numerous positions at Northrop Grumman, CapitalOne, and CarMax. Before coming to REC, Bret worked for AvePoint as a Strategic Consultant. In this role he served as a key technical consultant/architect on AvePoint’s solutions for Microsoft 365 and service engagements with clients both remote and on-site.

Bret earned his B.S. in Industrial Management with a concentration in Computer Science from Clemson University and his MBA from Winthrop University, where he was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society.
